Description

About AILA

At AILA, we are at the forefront of advancing artificial intelligence to create real-world impact. Our mission is to build and deploy intelligent systems that empower organisations and users alike — bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and practical applications. Joining us means you'll be part of a collaborative, fast-paced environment where innovation, accountability and ethical AI matter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and optimise machine learning models for natural language processing (NLP), computer vision and predictive analytics applications.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and software engineers to build scalable, robust data pipelines and production-ready deployments of AI/ML solutions.
  • Conduct rigorous experiments: analyse model performance, iterate on feature engineering, fine-tune architectures, and improve interpretability and efficiency.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and partner with product teams to ensure delivery aligns with strategic goals.
  • Contribute to the growth of internal AI tooling, frameworks and best practices, ensuring high standards of code quality, reproducibility and documentation.
  • Stay abreast of latest developments in ML/AI research, open source frameworks and industry trends; proactively propose and implement improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience building and deploying machine learning or AI models in real-world settings.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn and/or Hugging Face Transformers.
  • Solid understanding of neural networks, NLP techniques (e.g., sequence modelling, embeddings, transformers) and conventional statistical modelling.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) as well as MLOps tools such as Docker, MLflow, Kubeflow or equivalent.
  • Strong skills in data preprocessing, feature engineering, model validation and performance evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities — you will work across disciplines and with stakeholders at different levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or fine-tuning large-language-models (LLMs) or working with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures.
  • Knowledge of vector databases, embeddings optimisation, and scalable inference frameworks.
  • Open-source contributions or published research in the domain of AI/ML.
  • Prior experience deploying ML models at scale (e.g., microservices, real-time inference, monitoring and logging in production).

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses, aligned with experience and market standards.
  • Flexible working hours, hybrid/remote work options with emphasis on work-life balance.
  • Access to advanced compute resources (GPU clusters, cloud credits, latest libraries and tooling).
  • Professional development budget for attending conferences, obtaining certifications, and pursuing online courses.
  • A culture of continuous learning, innovation and inclusivity where your voice and ideas are valued.
  • Real opportunity to shape the future of AI in meaningful, high-impact projects.
